iPhone Siri: How to Use Voice Assistant for Detailed, Real-Time Battery Information?
In a generation where technology is rapidly updating itself to cater to ever-escalating demands of consumers, Apple has constantly churned out gadgets with revolutionary technology. The iPhone 4S is one such example – it featured the stunning Retina display and an 8 megapixel camera, besides the trend-setting integrated voice assistant – Siri – with artificial intelligence capability. The company is known to pump out smartphones with impressive features.
As testament to the product’s features, the global jailbreak community is usually very busy unearthing potential enhancements for all of Apple’s more innovative products; this includes Siri.
The Absinthe jailbreak for A5 devices marked the beginning of a new era, particularly for Siri-based tweaks.
Now, although every such enhancement does not warrant mandatory use, the BatteryLevelAE tweak undoubtedly does. It uses Siri to tell you, with surprising accuracy, how much battery life remains on your device.
This is important because it helps to know exactly how much juice is left in your smartphone (and given that the iOS 5 drains its battery pretty quickly, this is always good to know), besides offering solutions for several battery-life issues affecting iPhone 4S users, which have been in the spotlight for quite some time.

2 Quick iPad Battery Life Tips
One of the unexpected ‘features’ of the new iPad is that it takes a lot longer to charge – a whole lot longer (somewhere around 7 hours by most estimates). Fortunately, the new iPad offers superb battery life, just as the first two generations did – but the longer charging time makes us even more aware of the desire to get the best battery performance on the iPad.
There are a number of good battery-saving tips for the iPad and iOS devices in general. Here are the two that I have generally found to be the most effective:
– Brightness: Turn Off Auto-Brightness. Just turning Auto-Brightness off (under Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper) and setting the brightness to a comfortable level that’s around the midway point on the brightness slider (or a little lower if possible) will give a very nice boost to your iPad battery life.
– Services Toggling: Keep most services you’re not actively using toggled off. This means if you are most often in areas where you have free WiFi networks accessible, then make sure you keep Cellular Data toggled off except when needed (if you have a WiFi + 3G / 4G model). Keep Bluetooth turned off unless you are actively using it for sharing with another device or similar. Location Services can be turned off also, but this will mean you will not be able to use Find My iPad if the iPad is lost or stolen – so this one requires more consideration.
What are your thoughts on getting the most out of your iPad’s battery life? Which methods have worked best for you?

Considering that this is a free app, it is worth the download. It is helpful to be able to display the date and time while showing off your music collection. As for the $0.99 download for the additional clock faces, skip it. They are not particularly impressive looking anyway.

Set APN for iPhone
How To: Set APN for iPhone 4
- There’s an online APN Generator.
- The iPhone 4 has no way to set your APN settings via the iPhone itself, so the best way is download the software below and set your APN accordingly.
- Open your Safari Browser with your iPhone 4, go to help.benm.at, go to the very bottom and click on Tethering. If your Country isn’t listed, go all the down to the bottom and create a custom APN and set your APN Settings there and click on Download. That’s it!
How To: Shake Your Device To Undo Or Redo Text Entry
How To: Shake Your Device To Undo Or Redo Text Entry
If you find yourself typing an Email or note on your device but you wish to delete everything you have just written then all you need to do is give it a shake.
Doing so will bring up the following screen:
From here you can select to Undo Typing or simply cancel. Your device will only undo a certain amount of typing at a time. Usually around a sentence at the maximum. Please also note that once you leave the app, should you go back and wish to undo typing the device will not allow you to do so. You will need to manually delete any content you wish to have removed by either highlighting it or pressing the delete key repeatedly.
I know you enjoyed shaking your iOS device the first time so lets do it again. By doing it directly after you hit Undo Typing the following will appear:
As you will notice from the image above you again have Undo Typing but now you also have redo typing. Should you press Undo Typing again then the rest of the sentence in question will be removed.
Redo Typing will put back what you have undone should you wish to keep the content you have just removed.
You can use this handy feature anywhere typing is being entered on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
